Auditory Implant Initiative

It is estimated that 1.2 million Americans suffer from profound hearing loss, and this number will only grow with an aging population. Only about 5% of these individuals have received a cochlear implant, yielding a lower utilization rate than most European countries and any other hearing technology.

The Auditory Implant Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to high quality cochlear implant care through aggregate data analytics.

Focusing on research, collaboration and outreach, we have developed a patient-centric care management platform (HERMES) with the following features:

  • A communication medium for geographically separate providers
  • A data management tool for tracking patients within a facility
  • Data collection and aggregation for analytics and research purposes
